Questions or concerns? Reading this Privacy Notice will help you understand your privacy rights and choices. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our Services. If you still have questions or concerns, please contact us at dogitomarketing@gmail.com.

We do not process other sensitive categories such as racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, or biometric data.

  • What are your rights? Depending on your location, applicable privacy law may give you rights regarding your personal information.

1. What information do we collect?

Personal information you disclose to us

In Short: We collect personal information that you provide to us.

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you register, create your profile, participate in activities on the Services, make a purchase, or otherwise contact us. This may include:

  • Account & contact data: names, usernames, email addresses, phone numbers, password, contact preferences
  • Profile data: age, city/region/country, website, social links, and profile photos
  • Pet data: information about your dog(s) such as nickname, breed, gender, date of birth, photos, and walk preferences
  • User-generated content: posts, comments, reviews, feedback, complaints, places/locations you create, and photos and videos you upload
  • Messages & communications: the content of messages you send through the in-app chat, including text and the participants
  • Marketplace data: orders you place, order contact details (name, phone, email), product reviews, and products you view. We do not store payment card or bank account numbers.
  • Referral data: referral codes and referral relationships between users

Sensitive Information. Where you grant permission, we process precise geolocation data, which is considered sensitive personal information under some US state laws (see Section 11). We do not process other sensitive categories such as racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, health information, or biometric data.

Application data

  • Geolocation Information. We request permission to access location from your mobile device while you are using the app, to provide location-based features (finding nearby dog owners, places, and events, and attaching a location to posts). This may include precise (GPS-level) location. You can change or revoke this in your device settings.
  • Photos & Camera. With your permission, we access your camera and photo library so you can add profile photos, dog photos, and images/videos to posts, reviews, and feedback.
  • Push Notifications. With your permission, we register your device for push notifications and process a device push token to deliver them.

Information automatically collected

  • Log and Usage Data — diagnostic, usage, and performance data, error/crash reports.
  • Device Data — device model, operating system, language, country, and similar.
  • Analytics Events — in-app events about how you use the Services, associated with a persistent app analytics identifier.
  • Advertising Identifier — on iOS, with your consent via the App Tracking Transparency prompt, we process your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to measure ad campaign performance and show relevant ads.
  • Location Data — precise or imprecise location, depending on your device settings.

2. How do we process your information?

In Short: We process your information to provide and improve our Services, deliver chat and notifications, run our marketplace, for analytics and advertising, for security, and to comply with law.

  • To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
  • To provide location-based features — show nearby dog owners, places, and events.
  • To deliver in-app chat and real-time messaging, including storing and routing your messages.
  • To send push notifications about activity, messages, and area updates relevant to you.
  • To operate our marketplace — process and deliver orders, handle reviews, and respond to inquiries.
  • To run our referral and rewards program.
  • For analytics and product improvement.
  • For advertising — measure campaign performance and, with your consent, show you relevant ads.
  • To provide customer support and respond to feedback and complaints.
  • For safety, content moderation, security, and fraud prevention.
  • To comply with our legal obligations and protect the vital interests of any person.

3. What legal bases do we rely on?

In Short: We only process your personal information when we have a valid legal reason to do so.

If you are in the EU or UK, we may rely on: consent (which you can withdraw at any time); performance of a contract to provide the Services you request; legitimate interests such as operating, securing, and improving the app; legal obligations; and vital interests to protect the safety of any person. If you are in Canada, we process your information with your express or implied consent, except in the limited cases permitted by applicable law.

4. When and with whom do we share your personal information?

In Short: We may share information in specific situations and with the categories of third parties below.

We share data with third-party vendors and service providers that perform services for us and require access to do that work:

  • Cloud Storage Providers — to store uploaded photos and videos (e.g. Amazon Web Services / S3).
  • Messaging & Push Notification Providers — to deliver real-time chat and push notifications. To deliver a push notification, the sender's name and message content may be transmitted to our push provider (e.g. Google Firebase Cloud Messaging).
  • Mapping & Geolocation Providers — Google Maps Platform APIs and geocoding services receive device location to provide maps and location features.
  • Data Analytics Services — e.g. Google Firebase Analytics.
  • Advertising & Retargeting Platforms / Social Networks — e.g. Meta/Facebook, for ad measurement and, with consent, targeted advertising.
  • Error & Performance Monitoring — e.g. Sentry.
  • Email Delivery Providers.

We may also share your information during a business transfer (merger, acquisition, or sale of assets), with our affiliates who must honor this notice, and with business partners to offer certain products, services, or promotions.

5. Do we use cookies and other tracking technologies?

We use tracking technologies and mobile SDKs for analytics and advertising. In our mobile app we use analytics and advertising SDKs (e.g. Firebase Analytics, the Meta/Facebook SDK) rather than browser cookies. On iOS, ad tracking only occurs after you consent via the App Tracking Transparency prompt. To the extent this is a "sale"/"sharing" (including targeted advertising) under US state laws, you can opt out as described in Section 11.

6. How long do we keep your information?

We keep your personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this notice, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law. No purpose will require us to keep your personal information for longer than twelve (12) months past the termination of your account.

7. How do we keep your information safe?

We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information. However, no electronic transmission or storage technology can be guaranteed 100% secure, so we cannot promise that unauthorized third parties will never be able to defeat our security.

8. Do we collect information from minors?

We do not knowingly collect, solicit data from, or market to children under 18 years of age. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18, or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to their use of the Services. If we learn that personal information from users under 18 has been collected, we will deactivate the account and delete the data. Contact us at dogitomarketing@gmail.com.

9. What are your privacy rights?

Depending on your location (for example the EEA, UK, Switzerland, Canada, or certain US states), you may have rights to request access to, correction of, a copy of, or deletion of your personal information, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. You can exercise these rights by contacting us at dogitomarketing@gmail.com. You may also opt out of marketing communications at any time via the unsubscribe link or by contacting us.

10. Controls for Do-Not-Track features

Most browsers and some mobile operating systems include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature. As no uniform standard for recognizing DNT signals has been finalized, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals. If a standard is adopted in the future, we will inform you in a revised version of this notice.
